Description
Australian Red Centre Series by Lexa Harpell.
First light in the morning on the sand dunes. Two small tracks cross each other made through the night from a small desert creature.
Image taken near Yulara, Northern Territory, Australia.
The Australian Red Centre is an iconic sight and name world wide. Due to the vivid red soil covering the arid landscape which comes from the oxidized iron in the soil and rocks.
The plants are hardy and vibrant against the orange/red soils on the sand dunes scattered across the area. Although on this overcast day the colours are more subtle!
Home to the oldest living culture in the world and the most recognisable single monolith - Uluru. Yet there is much more to explore and be amazed!
Covering the lower part of the Northern Territory which lies in the centre of Australia. It is also the heart of 'The Outback'.
Sand dune near Yulara, Central Australia, Northern Territory, Australia.
