Description
A view across the bay to Freycinet National Park, which is located in the Freycinet Peninsular on the southeast coast of Tasmania, Australia.
The iconic orange lichen grows on the rocks along the east coast creating wonderful contrasts to the blue waters.
There is so much to see, explore, hike, swim, kayak, paddle or just sit and absorb the sheer beauty of this peninsular.
The multiple hiking trails over mountains, along beaches and rocky coastlines and through bush will keep you enthralled and busy for days on end.
Even though Freycinet National Park is a 'tourist' destination, it attracts active 'tourists' who mainly want to explore nature.
One of the famous hikes is to Wine Glass Bay. the majority of people hike up the mountain for the view of the bay, then it's down a LOT of stairs to the bay for a quick swim - then back up the stairs.
I opted to continue through the bush to Hazzards Beach then along the rocky coastline to the carpark. It took me about 9 hours with lots of photographic stops and swims.
