Description
A Photographer's Life 'On the Road'.
Travelling around Australia capturing scenes that take your breath away in obscure places is definitely rewarding. It broadens your views to the world, you wake up to a new vista each day and gasp at life's utter beauty.
Your curiosity for life and knowledge grows.
The allure of the most unlikely subjects become a fascination and their beauty exposed.
Travel light so you can take advantage of the roads less travelled. If the van is too large to access a place, you go by bike, if the terrain is too steep, then it is by foot. Hiking 10hours to get some awe inspiring shots.
Like everything in life, it has its ups and downs - and the ups certainly outweigh the downs.
Wearing 4pairs of insulated socks, woollen pullover, scarf and beanie to bed at times. No heater, no air conditioning. Everything is minimal and simple.
Traipsing through rain, hail and snow, waist deep in flowing rivers, climbing mountains you think you can't. Venturing into places where you feel uneasy. Waking at 3am to catch the light - all for those magical shots!!! haha
I figure, when you look back in life all those rather little inconveniences in the scheme of things will be remembered with laughter and precious tales to recall.
You will leave a mark, a legacy to the world. LIFE is meant to be LIVED!

I love it, I may change my mind and go back on the road. My camera is getting dust all over it ;)

haha you had to dig deep to find this image Bob! Yes still travelling - so much to see and experience! Better than living a dull life in a city! :) Wow 10 years - how extraordinary - you would have witnessed so much of this incredible world!

Hi Lexa... I like your collage...Are you still “on the road”? My wife Vivian and I were full time travellers for 10 years and it was the most wonderful time. This week Vivian and I move to Vancouver Island...Looking forward to more adventures...Thanks to you for sharing your adventures with us... Cheers Bob fv
