Description
Hook of Holland Shipping Canal by Lexa Harpell.
The Hook of Holland (de Hoek van Holland) is a small, yet busy town in the south west corner of Holland in The Netherlands - administered by the municipality of Rotterdam.
A major shipping canal for both industrial shipping and passengers ferries arriving from England and through the North Sea.
Large giraffe-like quay cranes at the ready to load and unload hundreds of cargo containers from cargo ships crossing the North Sea into The Hook of Holland's shipping canal in the Netherlands.
Working ports are fascinating watching the container and cargo ships arrive and leave with the precious cargo that we use on a daily basis...which most of the time we take for granted how they get to our local stores
During the WW11 the Germans saw it a very important port to hold.
There is something about industrial scenes that excites me. I guess it is the activity and the questions of where, who, why, how that runs through my mind.
This port has much to see and exciting as you sail through the waterway.
