Description
Kicking up Dust - Flinders Ranges by Lexa Harpell.
While waiting to cpature the subtle colour changes of sunset, off in the distance I watched a trail ov moving dust emerge acorss the landscape. As it grew closer, I saw three 4WD vehicles racing along a dirt road at speed through the folds just as the sun was setting.
It was an amazing iconic sight on the Australian landscape to view from such a distance.
The Flinders Ranges is a spectacular sight to behold. Mostly sandstone, erroded into gently fold over millions of years.
So much to explore and witness - from towering vivid orange cliffs, lines of gentle erroded folds, a natural large ampitheatre of Wilpena Pound, spectacular gorges, old large gum trees, creeks, ancient rock art, old ruins from our first European settlers, sheep and cattle stations, homesteads, and unique flora and fauna.
To see the true beauty and expanse of these ranges an aerial flight is a must.
This panorama scene was short from a look out across the gentle erroded folds. I arrived late afternoon to watch and capture to ever changing colours of the gold hour to sunset.
The Golden Hour intensifies the colours, light and shadows - you have to wait and watch for the short subtle changes.
