Description
MONA Museum of Old and New Art!
World class and sometimes controversial, this museum/art gallery holds the vast private collection of Tasmanian David Walsh.
Artwork is always subjective, it is supposed to be! Would you remember a row of insipid realistic paintings? ummm hardly.
Some pieces will push your boundaries, some will fascinate you, some will delight your eyes. Love or hate this collection, it WILL make you think and it WILL create conversations. Thats artits job is done.
Whatever your thoughts, it is a diverse collection of art and museum pieces to inspire and admire.
Situated on the River Derwent in Hobart, Tasmania, arriving by boat is preferable as the building in itself is a gran piece of art.
Burrowed and cut into the landscapes sandstone. It is all underground, cut into the sandstone. It is a brilliant piece of artwork in itself! I was mesmerised for hours at the beautiful architecture.

Terrific shot Lexa and well done on the pov. I visited MONA in 2013 and, as I understand it, a lot of the artworks I saw there are still in place. Some of them were just so unique and probably what many people wouldn't see as art. An amazing place to visit most definitely whether you enjoy the art or not.

It's an amazing architectural space as well. Agree, some of the art is unique and overlooked by some. Thank you Elaine ! L:)
