Description
Panorama - The Edge of the World by Lex Harpell.
Yes, that is the name of this place - The Edge of the World - its name is very fitting.
Situated on Tasmania's wild west coast the Roaring Forties wild wind patterns scream across 3/4 of the planet from Argentina across the Indian Ocean - nothing in between stops or subdues the force of these winds - until this small landmass of Tasmania.
With the Arthur River nearby, floating trees and logs make their way to the ocean, only to be forced back onto the rocks into a pileup of debris.
It makes for a fascinating scene of nature in her wildest times.
Many had tried to make their way to establish communities via the ocean to their demise.
The only ones who appear to delight in this violence are the seagulls, soaring with the ever changing winds - 'free as a bird' was never more fitting.
