Description
Tropical Queensland Series by Lexa Harpell.
Rainforest clad mountains kiss the Coral Sea - Daintree National Park, Far North Queensland, Australia.
A place where the rainforest meets the sea.
One of the most biologically diverse areas in the world with rainforest covered mountains sweeping down to the sandy beaches.
Cape Tribulations sits in two World Heritage Listed Sites - The Wet Tropics and The Great Barrier Reef areas of Australia.
A raw, lush land with dangers lurking all around you.
Warning signs adorn each beach entry of saltwater crocodile habitat.
Warning signs adorn each beach of 'Stinger Season' 'stingers' (jellyfish) during the summer periods. The deadly Box Jelly fish and the deadliest jellyfish in the world - the tiny Irukandji jellyfish swim in these waters.
Warning signs along the roads to warn you of the giant flightless bird - the cassowary.
They have three toed claws, the middle is a dager like claw which can give serious, even fatal attacks if provoked. So you do not approach these large magnificent birds either!
Of course there are the usual snakes and spiders who live in the area also.
Yet a visit to this unique, magnificent rainforest wilderness is well worth it!
The Daintree National Park's traditional owners are the Eastern Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people.
