Road Train to Somewhere - Central Australia
Somewhere between Alice Springs and Uluru! A Road Train thunders by taking supplies to the ummm nearest town - which could be many hundreds of kms away.
These huge Road Trains are a familiar sight in the Outback transporting all sorts of goods and the all essential fuel.
The drivers virtually 'live' on the road - driving, eating, sleeping for days or weeks at a time in their trucks.
These huge triple Road Trains are 53.5metres in length and are an essential transport system in the Outback, bringing supplies and fuel to the remote towns and cities.
The distance from Darwin to Uluru is around 2,000kms. Take in consideration that the Road Train uses on average 1ltr of fuel per 1 klm - That's 4,000 litres of fuel for a return journey!
So don't whine when you have to pay extra for fuel and food in remote Australia. This service if for our convenience!! Beats lugging it all yourself!
The Australian Red Centre is an iconic sight and name world wide. Due to the vivid red soil covering the arid landscape which comes from the oxidized iron in the soil and rocks.
Home to the oldest living culture in the world and the most recognisable single monolith - Uluru. Yet there is much more to explore and be amazed!
Covering the lower part of the Northern Territory which lies in the centre of Australia. It is also the heart of 'The Outback'.
Somewhere in Central Australia, Northern Territory, Australia.

Wow, no place to break down or have vehicle problems! Love how you have captured this...the road leads to that fantastic rock formation in the distance. A real sense of distance and remoteness Lexa!

You do have to do your 'homework' before driving to some places - I drove 300kms on a dirt road and I only saw one other car!
