People are usually fascinated with the colours of rust which comes in a broad spectrum.
BASICALLY: Rust or corrosion - happens in iron and it alloys such as steel when water/moisture and oxygen is present. Ultimately, over time the metal will disintegrate. Resulting in red, orange, brown, spectrum.
Patina forms on surfaces such as copper, bronze type metals in a coasting of various metal compounds. It also appears on stone surfaces.
Caused by the presence of oxygen, rain, carbon dioxide, and shows in the colours of green spectrum.
Underwater concrete (reinforced) pillars and metals are deprived of oxygen - a reaction of iron and chloride will result a rust in the green spectrum.
*This series comes from an original photograph taken by myself and processed in photo editing in High-Dynamic-Range for various artistic effects.
