Description
Red Centre of Australia Series by Lexa Harpell.
The Red Centre is an iconic sight and name world wide. Named for vivid red soil covering the arid landscape which comes from the oxidized iron in the soil and rocks - and because the area in Central Australia!
I wanted to arrive just after Wet Season when the plants would be still green and full of colour. Within a few months the glorious colours are gone until the next heavy rains. Besides during winter the temperature drops dramatically at night - the area borders the deserts!
The plants are hardy and vibrant against the orange/red soils on the sand dunes scattered across the area.
Home to the oldest living culture in the world and the most recognisable single monolith - Uluru. Yet there is much more to explore and be amazed!
Covering the lower part of the Northern Territory which lies in the centre of Australia. It is also the heart of 'The Outback'.
Sand dune near Yulara, Central Australia, Northern Territory, Australia.
