Description
The Grotto is situated a few kilometres from The Twelve Apostles along 'The Great Ocean Road' near Port Campbell, Victoria and are a major tourist attraction. The limestone has worn away by the ravishes of the ocean and winds to form a grotto.
Up to 50mts high, they are a collection of limestone stacks which were formed by the eroding of the cliffs by the extreme weather conditions from the Southern Ocean.
There are only eight stacks left standing as they will all eventually erode by the waves. However new stacks will form over time when the now cliff face erodes.
