Description
Bruges is renown for its gorgeous romantic Medieval Architecture and it was quite a surprise when I entered a courtyard to see a host of 'tree houses' built in this square.
I can't remember what they were built for, they just put a smile on my face!

Cool capture, Lexa ! Here is the explanation for those tree houses : In the trees of the beautiful interior garden of the Bruges beguinage the Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata has installed a series of tree houses. There are very poetic sculptures in which it scans the boundaries between art, architecture and nature. And they have the unique ability to address the viewer in many ways. They are surprising and strange, and at the same we find all our childhood fantasies about tree houses, secret hiding places and adventurous dream worlds in them again.
