Bull kelp is a thick, strong kelp which appears in large 'gardens' on the foreshores of Tasmania and Victoria, Australia.
Aptly named as it is very large and so strong you can not tear it, cutting with a knife is not that easy either. I've actually cut some into circles the size of a small dinner place, curled it into a bowl and allowed it to dry. Viola peanut bowl! ps There is very little odour attached.
