When you venture into a tropical rain forest, expect to get wet!
Dappled sun rays find their way through the dense foliage canopy followed with short consistent spurts of warm tropical rain.
Pristine water vigorously runs through the gorge year round, during the monsoon season the volume of waer increases dramatically - so much that large boulders are washed down from the hills into the gorge.
Mossman Gorge sits the in southern section of the Daintree National Park in Far North Queenland's Wet Tropics - a short drive from Port Douglas.
A fast flowing river of crystal clear water runs through the boulders in the steep sided gorge. then eases as it pools in large flat areas - creating a swimming hole to dip you body in the cool waters - a relief in the humidity of the Wet Tropics.
This small 'Secret Space' is not so easy to find - hidden off the track on the opposite side of the main river...
