Description
Summer Waters - Shingle Beach - South Australia by Lexa Harpell.
The intensity of landscape colours varies greatly during seasons, times and weather.
A bright summer's day bought out the warm colours of the shingles, the azure blue and darker blue of the waters at their peak during a low tide on the beach.
A beautiful sight of Mangrove trees growing amongst bright orange shingle rocks with azure blue clear waters.
Located on the upper Spencer Gulf on the Eyre Peninsular in South Australia.
This rare heritage beach is filled with shingle rock deposits and ridges dating back 10,000 years. This geological phenomenon is only one of three such registered placesin the world. The other two are in Egypt and Scotland.
I was fortunate to camp on the edge of the beach for several days enjoying the changing vistas of the tidal flows. Apparently, the location is windy most of the time, and I got to experience that also!
