Tantalising Tasmania Series by Lexa Harpell.
Taking a short break on a relatively flat rock to absorb the moment after a 4 hour climb to the summit of Tasmania's Cradle Mountain.

The vistas across the ranges are sublime and well worth the trek no matter what point along the Summit track you manage to hike.

Reaching the summit if not for the faint hearted. Not long after this point, I had to ditch my pack into a crevice - to continue the climb over giant boulders on a very step face. I am not a rock climber, tears welled up, I choked, I slipped on a few occasions, yet had to continue somehow. The vistas over the ranges of this world renown mountain are breathtaking.

There are many walks around Cradle Mountain, from flat one hour walks, to the 8 hours return to the summit and many scenic walks around Dove Lake, Lake Lilla and the Overland Track. No matter what you choose, you will be in awe of this world class natural beauty.
