A large metal egg-shaped sculpture illuminated with lights from within was part of the Vivid Sydney.
A multitude of small lights pierce through the darkness, creating a celestial effect reminiscent of a starry night sky. Sporadic bright flares give the impression of stars or distant galaxies within this cosmic display.
Vivid Sydney is an annual festival of light ideas installation and projections spanning 3 weeks highlighting some of Sydney's iconic and historic sites over Sydney Opera House, Walsh Bay, Circular Quay, The Rocks, North Sydney, Darling Harbour. Over the past few years of success, Vivid Music events have been also introduced and attended by over 3 million visitors.
Sydney's harbour also offers many large green spaces with backdrops of brightly lit high rise buildings. Families picnic on the grass and children have space to run towards the light installations with inviting music.
