Painted Hills Up Close - Aerial 3 by Lexa Harpell.
Shooting from a light plane is not so easy.
With the constant changing factors to contend with it was at times challenging, yet, thrilling!
I had the chance to 'take a spin' over Anna Creek Station and their little-known Painted Hills.
Anna Creek Station is the largest cattle station in the world - a bit shy of 24,000 square kms. This outback scenery takes your breath away with its vivid colours and patterns of dry creek beds meandering through the rust coloured ancient hills.
The Painted Hills is not a major tourist destination as you can only access them by plane from William Creek which has 3 permanent residents.
William Creek is a major stopover along the Oodnadatta Track for adventurers who dare to travel along its 260kms of the unsealed, corrugated track.
Yes, I got 2 flat tyres in 2 weeks - and I'd never changed a tyre in my life - but in this remote place, you rummage for the car manual out, cross your fingers and work it out.
In saying so, anyone who happens to pass stops to help and see if you are OK.
