Description
Ireland in Autumn Series by Lexa Harpell.
Country Donegal on Ireland's west coast has some of the most spectacular raw rural scenery Ireland has to offer. Path to Marlin Beg from Glencolmcille on a wet autumn day with Beefan Mountain and Glen Bay Beach.
Glencolmcille has a long history dates back to 3,000BC settled as a farming valley. "Gleann Cholm Cille" (in Irish language) translates to "The Glen of St. Columba's Church." St. Columba, one of Irelands three patron saints came here in the 6th century.
Ancient standing stones are scattered throughout the small rural village.
It is a bit of the end of the road for driving, yet the journey to explore Ireland begins with the multitude of walks over mountains, valleys, beaches as such as the glorious Silver Strand and if you are up to it a long walk to Slieve League, the highest sea cliffs in Europe.
