Intensifying the colours from an early summer morning on Tasmania's east coast - Bay of Fires.
Early white discovers thought the bay was on fire. Named for the number of large rocks covered in bright orange lichens.
This lichen grows in many places in Tasmania, although Bay of Fires has the most condensed and largest amount in one place.
Set the bright orange against the azure blue water and fine white sand - you have the perfect holiday destination!
